The Kitchen Vixen’s weekly recipe

The purveyor of food facts and fantasies, the dispeller of nutrition myths and misconceptions, The Kitchen Vixen is on a mission to save the world--one energy enhancing, disease fighting recipe at a time. The science of nutrition is a mere 200 years old, The Kitchen Vixen, slightly younger. While working as a personal trainer, The Kitchen Vixen found that she could help clients move their bodies but she didn't know what to tell them to eat to fuel their bodies. Fraught with confusion and misinformation, The Kitchen Vixen set out to set things straight. Then and there she decided to study the science of nutrition. Amassed with degrees and credentials from Western and Eastern sciences and philosophies, The Kitchen Vixen is still a student of her own body and a teacher for the masses. Join her each week as she shows you what to eat to fuel your body while teaching you why and how these ingredients work. The Kitchen Vixen is "IN", here to give you the recipes for success; for life.

Elizabeth Brown, MS, RD, CDE, also known as The Kitchen Vixen, is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Holistic Chef, Certified Diabetes Educator and Certified Weight Management Specialist. She holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s of Science in Nutrition with an emphasis in Sports Nutrition and Weight Management. Her culinary degree is from the Bauman School for Holistic Nutrition.

Elizabeth began her fitness career as a personal trainer more than 22 years ago but decided to pursue her degrees in nutrition to help teach clients how food fuels the body. She has worked as a fitness model including work with famous fantasy artist, Boris Vallejo for which she has been immortalized in a bronze statue with the Franklin Mint.

She is a former competitive power lifter, body builder and marathon runner and still implements all aspects of her fitness history into her daily exercise routines in addition to cycling and yoga. As a fitness expert Elizabeth wrote the exercise descriptions and routines for the Men’s Health Book Banish Your Belly. She has been interviewed as a nutrition and fitness expert more than 80 times on nationally syndicated news shows. She has conducted live cooking demos as a regular on the ABC morning news shows in Maryland, San Francisco and Las Vegas. She was also a guest chef on the TBS show Dinner and a Movie.

Elizabeth has worked as a Diabetes educator and Weight Management specialist counseling thousands of clients on the relationship between food and disease prevention.

Her goal now is to show people that eating for optimal health is not costly or time consuming it only takes good intentions. In the scheme of things, your health is what matters most; mind, body, spirit, and everything else will simply fall into place. You can see her in action as The Kitchen Vixen on You Tube or read her weekend newspaper column in the Santa Monica Daily Press. www.smdp.com “Kitchen Vixen”.
